The Vapor Trail 125, what can I say? If you know, you know. One of the most magical and brutal events in the country, maybe the world. The hardest single day race in Colorado by far. 5 times a finisher and 6 attempts at this crazy route. I've froze my hands, drank from streams, vomited while pedaling and ate pancakes served to me by Dave and Susan Wiens all during one ride on this course.
You dig deep during this race. The 20,000ft of climbing at altitude makes you earn every wheel of trail. Still, through all of the suffering, there is magic in those mountains and in the dirt on which we roll. Riding a bike at 3am at 13,000ft can change a person. A lot of people are going to miss this event.
