Present and Simple

I enjoy being present and living in the moment. Thoughts focused on what is happening around me, taking it all in, experiencing life as it happens and really being there to witness it. That's how the Midnight Grizzly quietly glissades throught the mountains and life.

There are so many distractions in today's world and I want to use this space as a way to reflect and put my thoughts and experiences into words and photos that I can share with my friends and family. A few years a go I started playing the mandolin, and I can't put the damn thing down. Why? Because when I'm holding it in my hands that's all I think about, the moment, the note I'm playing and not much else matters. That simplicty in thought makes me feel good. I get that feeling skiing, riding my bike, and through many other things. But it's harder and harder to find the time to think so simply.

Thinking simpily, acting simply, living simply, go much farther in today's society of chaos and over stimulation than jumping into the rat race. Don't get me wrong, I am part of the rat race, it's nearly impossible to avoid. However, managing the rat race is where gains can be made. For instance, only have one computer screen infront of you at a time.

For inspiration I turn to nature; wild animals, big mountains, aspen groves, rambling rivers, open meadows, deep powder snow and so much more. Nature puts me in my place, makes me feel insignificant, humble and heightens my senses.

Stay tuned for ramblings and photos of the simple and present life of a roaming grizzly trying to find out where he fits in this crazy world.
